My Portfolios

Below is a list of portfolios I've held over the past eight years

Portfolio: Urban Planning & PAC

As your representative on the PAC and Urban Planing, I've been involved in reviewing all new construction, additions, re-developments, zoning, and urban planning laws and regulations for the Town of Hampstead. As the portfolio head of this domain, it is my responsibility to update and explain to the rest of council exactly what urban planning laws and projects they are approving. This also gives me the opportunity to help our residents navigate and understand the process, which at times can be complicated and overwhelming. Having an impact on how our community looks and evolves is something I will always be passionate about.

Portfolio: Information Technology (IT)

My work in this domain has revolved around our continued approach to becoming a "Smart City". The My.Hampstead portal where residents can obtain and pay for permits, register complaints, and source information specific to their property has been the core focus. Adding electric car charging stations, LED streetlights, Wifi in parks and sourcing more efficient software are some other major projects involved.

Portfolio: Communications

As the portfolio head of Communications, I've been working with the Town to ensure that our communications with residents has improved over the years. More emphasis was placed on social media, re-branding, and a new & improved website (new release coming in late 2021)

Portfolio: Aquatics

With years of experience managing Hampstead Pool, it was a natural fit to be responsible for this portfolio. Hampstead Pool will always have a special place in my heart, and it brings a smile to my face every summer seeing many of the same families and friends continuing to visit. As head of this portfolio, I ensure that the staff and administration have all the resources they need to ensure this service remains available, fun and most importantly safe for the entire community.

As the youngest elected official in Hampstead's history, it was fitting that one of my responsibilities was to be the youth's point of contact for their City. The work in this domain focuses on ensuring programming and services to the youth are readily accessible and sufficient. From my personal experience growing up in Hampstead, the young adults in our community are the ones most disengaged. We've worked to create a youth council and committee, where those interested in politics and governance can get involved. We're also actively working on a mentoring and internship program for young residents wishing to gain experience in fields such as accounting, law, urban planning and communications.

Portfolio: Youth Involvement

Portfolio: Dog Run & Animal Health

Throughout my entire life there has always been minimum one dog in my family. Hampstead residents are passionate about their pets, and we take that seriously. The Hampstead dog run has been a huge success (considering we never had one before 2013). I continue advocating for improvements to the dog run, including replacement of the rocks/pebbles to a more friendly material for paws. Nonetheless, this portfolio has allowed me to meet some of our furriest and best residents in town. We've also taken considerable strides to ensure the safety of animals in the community, the ability to renew permits through the My.Hampstead portal, and fun activities such as dog day in Hampstead pool!
